About the challenge

Yardwork is the first AI hackathon where hacks have to be approved as sufficiently cool before the hacking starts. We have a few different tracks:

Track 1: AI for Scientific Discovery

For this track, you should push scientific frontiers with LLMs. Basically, get LLMs to do some cool science.

Track 2: AI, Stablecoins, and the future of Money

Finance is old, slow, and broken. For this track, mix intelligence too cheap to meter with stablecoins, crypto, and/or DeFi and see what old industries you can shake up.

Track 3: AI in Cybersecurity

For this track, get an LLM to hack stuff or protect a digital system in some way. Scary, but useful.

Track 4: AI in AR/BCI/Hardware

Meta's Orion proves AR is becoming the next big platform. Meta recently released an EEG-to-text model, that can literally read minds. Build on these platforms or build some cool robots or something. For this track, just build something cool with AI and hardware.

Track 5: Agents/MCPs Track

Any other cool AI agent hack also goes! There is still a lot of alpha left on the table with agents, and with the recent traction of MCPs, there's an infinite number of topics here. If none of the previous tracks interest you, try this one out!

Track 6: General Track

Some other cool AI project you want to make but doesn't fit into any of these tracks? You can still do it!

Get started

To start, form a team of 2-4 people and then come up with an idea! On the first day of the hackathon, you'll need to have your idea approved by an admin at the hackathon. We'll have a line where you get 20 seconds to pitch the idea. If it's rejected, go back to the drawing board and come back. Once you're accepted, signup on devpost and get to hacking!
