Daydream Biratnagar — A Global Hack Club Game Jam in Nepal
Daydream Biratnagar is a 24-hour hackathon and game jam happening this September at Arniko College, Biratnagar. It is part of Hack Club’s largest simultaneous global event, with 100+ locations around the world hosting Daydream together. Unlike typical hackathons that can feel intimidating, Daydream is designed to be beginner-friendly, encouraging high school students — coders, artists, and musicians — to collaborate and build games, websites, and creative projects in just one day.
Mission
The mission of Daydream Biratnagar is to inspire the next generation of makers by giving teenagers a space to learn coding, explore design, and innovate through teamwork. For Hack Club, “hacking” means problem-solving, innovating, and creating — not breaking into systems. Participants will:
Build projects in teams.
Sharpen creativity, collaboration, and innovation skills.
Form lasting friendships and join a global community of makers.
Why Biratnagar?
While Kathmandu and Pokhara often attract Nepal’s tech initiatives, Biratnagar rarely sees hackathons — typically only once every 2–3 years. For many teens, this will be their first-ever hackathon experience. Biratnagar is home to passionate and curious youth who are eager to code and create but lack opportunities to showcase their talents. Daydream Biratnagar aims to fill this gap by sparking a culture of problem-solving, creativity, and community building in the city.
