  Chennai city Police has traversed 167 years on the sands of time, leaving many a distinct footprint behind which dates back to 1629 A.D. The City Police has undergone a sea change from its initial days. Greater Chennai Police has served as model in urban policing, starting from turn out and touching ideal standards of response time, detection community service and maintenance of Law and Order. Greater Chennai Police with a long and illustrious history has established itself as a truly professional and trend setting Police Force. In line with professionalism, Greater Chennai Police is conducted this Cyber Hackathon join hands with SRMIST Ramapuram to find out solution for the real time problems that Police Force facing every day.

This event comprises two distinct stages. Initially, teams will engage in an online submission phase, presenting solution concepts. The shortlisted teams will then advance to the second round. In the subsequent phase, these selected teams will convene on campus to showcase their operational solutions to a panel of experts, with a duration of 2 Days on 1st and 2nd March 2024

1. Deep Fake Detection - Safeguarding Reality in the Age of AI:

The participants need to create solutions that tackle the increasing risk created by deepfake media. In this hackathon, participants will engage in dynamic exploration for creative ways to identify and stop the spread of false information produced by artificial intelligence.

2.   Training Simulation – Virtual Sleuth:

Participants are tasked with creating an immersive and realistic training simulation specifically designed to train Cyber Crime Officers in the investigation and mitigation of advanced cybercrimes. From deciphering intricate attack patterns to conducting digital forensics, this hackathon aims to develop a simulation that replicates the complexities of real-world cyber threats and seeks to bridge the gap between traditional policing and the evolving landscape of cyber threats, empowering officers to navigate complex digital investigations effectively.

3.   Social Media Blocking – Bot Blocking:

Hackathon challenges participants to revolutionize social media reporting with an innovative solution that leverages bots to facilitate multiple reports on specific content. This hackathon aims to enhance user-driven content moderation by introducing automation and efficiency in the reporting process, ensuring a swift and effective response to objectionable material on social media platforms.

4.   Spam and phishing URL Tracing & Blocking:

·        Design and develop a technological solution for AI-enabled Phishing Links Detection and Alert System. The solution should be able to identify the source of phishing attacks in web pages, email apps, social media, instant messenger apps, text messages etc. The solution may be in the form of a desktop/mobile application or a web browser plugin.

·        Design and develop a crowd-sourcing based solution that can trace, analyse and verify the source of any incoming call, SMS and Email based on the inputs from the end-users. The solution should be able to classify, whether the source is genuine or spam. Also, the solution should be able to generate a risk score for incoming calls, SMS and Emails, based on the crowd-sourced input.

5.   AI Translate – Natural Language Processing based Chat emotion detection and summarization:

Design and develop a technological solution in the domain of artificial intelligence, or AI, that focuses on helping to understand text and speech similarly as humans can. Natural Language Processing (NLP) enables computer programs that translate text between languages and react to spoken commands and also Seeking to enhance the emotional recognition system's functionality.

6.   Obscene Content Block:

Create and implement a method for identifying and blocking any abusive and obscene media (audio, video, or image) on the user's end. The solution should be able to send alerts to the concerned nodal agency in case of the spread of such content. The solution may be in the form of a desktop/mobile application or a web browser plugin.
