The Hackathon 2019 is a two and a half day long coding & business development competition where software programmers, developers, designers and business people come together to design and build something that will develop a solution for a challenge that the team identifies the solution for one of the three special topic areas: 1. Rural Development ( Eg; improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas, – Education, entrepreneurship, physical infrastructure, and social infrastructure), 2. Education and 3. Climate Change(Eg. Recycling, air pollution etc,).,,This year, in 2019, the Hackathon 2019 will be held over the weekend of 18-19-20 October 2019 at the Ooredoo offices in Yangon and Mandalay via video conferencing to create a virtual site. Prior to and during the hackathon, Impact Hub Yangon will conduct workshops in Yangon, Mandalay and for people wishing to learn more about the running of the hackathon and the ideation process, so that they can better describe their challenge concept concerning one of the 3 special topic areas by pre-hacking it. Mentors are also available during The Hackathon 2019, to help and guide candidates to refine their solution and make enhancements to their app prototype.
