The Covitech Challenge

The intensity of the human tragedy unfolding around us can never be too far from our minds when we hear the piercing sirens of ambulances every few minutes. Our health system has been brought to its knees as a result of the exponential increase in numbers, and our medical professionals are seeking assistance. As India grapples with the new COVID-19 surge, reports of oxygen and medical supply shortages continue to pour in, perhaps cruelly summed up by social media posts of hospitals pleading with authorities for oxygen supplies, helpless friends and family desperately looking for oxygen cans for their loved ones, drugs or hospital care for their family members. The aim of the "Covitech" challenge is to raise money for Hoomans Of Calcutta's fundraiser to provide oxygen to senior citizens and low-income families in the region. Everyone is welcome to participate, but small donations (of at least $1/€1/₹100/£1) are greatly appreciated. Participants will be asked to create a short video explaining a specific and unique solution to a current problem. No coding experience is required, participants can submit researched solutions too.
