NOTICE - SBC HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR 2025

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Sustainable Buildings Challenge! We are so glad that you were excited to help innovate sustainable solutions for buildings.

Due to low enrollment and conflicting design competitions, we will be cancelling this year’s competition. Our team is disappointed by this outcome as we were anticipating a fun and engaging weekend.

We hope that this does not deter your interest in sustainability and buildings at a time where it is more important than ever to design livable, sustainable, and human-centric indoor spaces.

About the challenge

The Sustainable Buildings Challenge (SBC) is a weekend-long annual competition hosted by the Sustainable Buildings Network (SBN) UofT, where participants design innovative solutions to real-world challenges in sustainable building design and public policy. Join us this year to leverage your practical design knowledge with our theme of “Winter”!

SBC is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of any program at all universities across Canada. Registration closes March 14th, and the competition runs from Saturday March 22 to Sunday March 23. Join in a team of up to four, or sign up as an individual and be paired with someone else - potentially from another school! Prizes are available to the winning team.
