Once you sign up on Devpost, indicate whether you have a team or not. When a team member submits the project on behalf of everyone on the team, there is an option to add your teammates on the submission which is how you will indicate you are a team. Don't stress about team specifics until you submit your project!
Lynbrook Engineering Club presents NorCal Hacks, a beginner-friendly online hackathon that invites all middle and high school students to submit a project tackling the issues in our world and pushing the frontiers of technology. In a 3-and-a-half day period from 10/24 3:00 PM to 10/27 8:00 AM Pacific time, contestants can create any project that aims to tackle one of the 5 tracks: Renewable Energy, Energy Conservation, Energy Access, Climate Change, and Next-Generation Energy Technologies.

We will be giving announcements on Discord so be sure to check it often for workshop reminders and speaker event updates! You will also be able to find teammates and interact with the sponsors, as well as find important information such as the rubric and detailed schedule in the #announcements channel
3. Form a team of up to 4 or work solo and get started! Happy Hacking!
No prior experience is necessary as we will have workshops & speaker events in a wide variety of topics throughout the weekend. Collaborating with Lynbrook High School's Computer Science, Machine Learning, DevX, and Web Development Clubs. Be sure to join the discord and attend the workshops! They will be happening in the voice channels.

Energy Conservation: The energy crisis is a global problem, however, the digital age could change this. Projects in this category can explore ways to reduce consumption through innovative technologies, promoting a more energy-efficient world.
Energy Access: Millions lack reliable access to electricity. This category seeks solutions that can provide affordable, clean, and accessible energy to underserved communities.
Climate Change: Climate change’s effects are being felt throughout the world, threatening human and animal lives. This category focuses on solutions to combat climate change and its impacts. Projects can address mitigation strategies, adaptation technologies, etc.
Next-Generation Energy Technologies: Explore energy innovation! This category focuses on emerging technologies that promise to revolutionize the energy landscape. Projects can explore breakthroughs in battery storage, energy management systems, and advancements in fusion energy and smart grids. Participants have the chance to showcase their visionary ideas that could shape the future of energy.
