About the challenge

MakerHacks is happening on February 1-2 in downtown San Francisco. It is the US's first pre-collegiate robotics hackathon, and the first overnight hackathon in the Bay Area for the 2024-25 hacking season.

It's fully hardware centered and high-schooler only. We'll be releasing a robotics game & field for one of the tracks (similar to FIRST/VEX) where hackers will design and rapidly iterate remote controlled/autonomous robots to solve this engineering design challenge.

There will be:

  • world-class workshops on mechanical design, programming, and integration

  • a 3D print farm for rapid iteration & prototyping

  • large assortment of components (microcontrollers, servos, sensors)

  • plenty of qualified mentors + curriculum to guide the engineering design process

  • prizes consisting of 3D printers (we're giving the whole farm away), hardware kits, gaming gear, & cash.
