HakiHack Kenya is a 2-day hackathon focused on bringing together tech enthusiasts to develop tools that enhance democracy, good governance, and civic action.

Participants create solutions that focus on:

• Service Efficiency


• Governance Accountability (eg. Kenya Kwanza Tracker)


• Community Organization and Petitioning (eg. iPetition)


• Investigative Journalism


• Election Vigilance


• Original Datasets - (eg. i_paid_a_bribe.com or citizens of kenya)


• Civic Education (eg. @adelle_onyango)


• Any other tool promoting democracy, activism and transparency (eg. lost_in_kenya.com)
