About the hackathon General The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) and its 1,600 subsidiaries have come together to host our fourth GNEC Hackathon! We encourage those passionate about engineering, technology, and programming to join this event to demonstrate their skills while competing for prizes such as internships and mentorships with our partners Why Us GNEC is well-connected to the UN and has a global network of NGOs. You can tap into this network during and after this hackathon. Our partners will also host various workshops where they will teach new technological concepts while also offering insight into their mission and the work they have done. The workshops are a great opportunity to explore one’s interests and possible career paths. Theme IMPORTANT CHANGES THIS YEAR!! In past GNEC Hackathons, we’ve embraced the full range of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as our theme, giving participants the freedom to choose their focus. This year, we’re adding a bit of suspense! The specific theme for our fourth hackathon—a specific 1-2 UN SDGs—will be unveiled during the opening ceremony. This shift comes directly from received feedback, as many participants expressed a desire for a more unified theme to align projects toward shared goals. Please stay tuned!
