The hackathon will be a Zoom online event where students from each chapter's school can form teams of 1-4 (team members should belong to the same school), on Feb 16-19. The theme will be: Game Development to Educate Children on Environment, and the project can be coded using any programming language/tool of their choice, and will be released which entices each team to create an innovative and inclusive approach to a certain issue. Teams will then program the idea they came up with, and create a 1-10 minute video that describes:
Their approach to the issue
Why they choose their approach
The planning process
The process/struggles they faced when programming
A showcase of the program
Uses of the program
Improvements that could be made to the program
Teams will not only be facing off with teams within their school for a chance to win the best project within the school, but they will also be competing against teams from other chapters to win prizes granted to certain teams. Additionally, if each chapter is up for it, prior to the announcement of the topic, each chapter could hold 1 workshop that introduces either presentation, planning, or programming skills to prep teams to create their project.
Feel free to use any tools of programming languages you are comfortable with. You can also attend the workshops for more inspirations.
