DiaTech 10X - Diabetes in India (Organized by Emory, Georgia Tech, and IITM)

healthsocial
Location: Online

Background:

India has an estimated 212 million people with diabetes, representing the largest burden of the disease in the world. After a Problem Discovery Workshop at IIT Madras with the top diabetes researchers from across India and incorporating patient needs, we will develop a list of top 10 problems in diabetes in India that can be solved using technology within the next 10 years. We hope that this problem-and-solution-based approach to noncommunicable disease will help transform the nature of medical innovation to be more patient-centric.

Problem Statement

The problem statement will be released on April 1st and will be based on one or more of the top 10 problems identified by patients, clinical and public health experts. Your solution should address the problem statement. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please email us at [email protected].

Where you come in:

As students from a variety of disciplines, we believe that you have a broad set of skills and experiences that will allow you to think outside the box in developing solutions to diabetes-related problems. During the hackathon, we look forward to your collaboration and creativity as you come up with technological ideas and solutions that can one day help diabetes patients in India.
