DevCa 2016

Location: In-person

The DevCa (Developing Caribbean) 2016 Conference and Code Sprint is the 4th staging of an initiative by a variety of regional stakeholders including NGOs, educational institutions, and non-profits (see our Sponsors section below for specifics) to increase awareness of the opportunities presented by the global open data revolution. The Code Sprint is intended to provide a platform for developers and their teams to showcase their skills while finding solutions using open data (sample datasets will be provided).

The aim of the competition is to get the people most capable of implementing open data solutions across the region to create these solutions in line with the thematic areas.

At all DevCa Code Sprint sites, the organizers also work closely with domain experts and problem owners.  This sees several partners coming on board each year to contribute data, expertise and mentorship on problems in various sectors for the code sprint participants.
