City Design Challenge

About the challenge: Hackmate's City Design Challenge is 36-hour design challenge where teams across the City compete to shape the future of our cities. This year, the City Design Challenge will focus on improving the Greater Toronto Area. There are two categories of competition: the business pitch category and the hacking category. The business pitch provides beginner programmers an opportunity to participate by proposing a well-researched solution to a problem. The hacking category allows students experienced in the STEM field to propose a practical solution instead. At the end of the hackathon, teams in both categories will present in front of judges whom have experience with working in different sectors of the city, such as city councillors and city council members.
