Theme: Radiant Minds
The future is not only in our hands, but the hands of the youth. We want our participants to use their radiant minds to create an application to solve the issue that many black K-12 students face around America. Many of these students have limited or no access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education due to socioeconomic issues. The objective of this event will be to create a viable software solution that takes this important issue by
There are two categories: Beginner & Experienced
In the Beginner category, submissions will primarily use block-based, no coding platforms. i.e. App Inventor, Scratch, StreamLit, Pygame, etc. Easy grading.
In the Experienced category, entries will be free to use any coding platform. i.e. React.js, Node.js, Android Studio, etc. Heavier grading. Bonus points for using a Back-End platform such as MongoDB, AWS, etc.
Submission Examples:
* Mentorship Program. An app that connects black professionals to aspire students.
* Resource Locator. An app that locates after-school STEM programs nearby the user.
* Reward System. An app that aggregates scholarships and grants towards stem programs, fellowships and opportunities.

* Research to back it up
