AdaHacks VI

art · beginner · education ·
Location: Mountain View

We are so happy and proud to have you at this event, which will be filled with friendship, coding, and fun! AdaHacks was founded by the board of the Saint Francis High School Girls Who Code Club and held in partnership with YouTube with the aim of reducing the gender gap in the technology field. Women make up only 20% of computer science majors (https://ncses.nsf.gov/pubs/nsf21321/table/5-1) & only 28.8% (https://anitab.org/resources/case-studies-and-whitepapers/) of the technology industry. Through a collaborative all-female environment, our goal is to encourage young women to follow their passions for STEM. We are inspired by female trailblazers in STEM, so we named our event after Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer. We thank all of our sponsors for believing in this cause, as well as all of you for spending time with us at this event.

Today will be primarily filled with time to code a project with your team that addresses a problem fitting a division theme. There will be free swag, food, different prizes, multiple workshops, and women who will speak about their experiences in the technology industry. We hope you enjoy learning more about programming as you collaboratively design websites & applications, and enjoy AdaHacks VI
