CPA Australia and Singapore Accountancy Commission are calling for participation in the inaugural Accounting Innovation Challenge.

We welcome students, designers, developers and professionals from all walks of life, regardless of experience or profession. As long as you would like to make a difference and see your idea develop from a lightbulb spark to prototype, this is the place for you. You can come as a team with your friends or form a team on the spot with like-minded participants. Come make new friends, learn something new and develop a software solution that can impact an industry!

What is the Accounting Innovation Challenge?

It is a hackathon where you will be challenged to create innovative solutions to real problems in the accounting industry. You will be equipped with skills building workshops in ideation and brainstorming, prototyping and other technology-related subjects.

Important Dates & Locations:

2 June (9.30am-6pm) - This day will kick off with brainstorming tools so you can get more clarity around the Problem Statements and get feedback on your ideas. Most importantly, you can form your Hackathon dream team and get ready to face the next day's challenge. LOCATION - SMU School of Accountancy Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium, 60 Stamford Road, Singapore 178900

3 June (9.30am-6pm) - Gather to embark on the hackathon. We will have hands-on workshops and on-site mentors so you can bring your ideas to fruition. You will have additional time after this day to work on your prototype off-site. All submissions should be done by 4 June 2345 hrs. LOCATION - SMU Labs, 71-77 Stamford Road, Singapore 178895

4 June (11:45pm) - Submissions cut-off time. NOTE: This is no longer at 11:59pm due to the 15 minute increments implemented in the devpost system.

8 June - Announcement of Finalist teams who will have the opportunity to attend additional coaching workshops to refine project pitching skills.

22 June (2pm-6.15pm) - Finals Day where all finalists will come together to pitch their ideas to the judges. Winners will be decided and announced on the day, followed by an intimate networking session with industry professionals. LOCATION - SMU School of Accountancy Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium, 60 Stamford Road, Singapore 178900
